Reactive arthritis is yet another type of arthritis which also includes inflammation of bones and joint muscles. This inflammation is result of infection from some other body part thus, this type of arthritis is known as reactive arthritis, and the inflammation is the reaction of injury to the body tissues which is accompanied by swelling and pain. Reactive arthritis is also associated with inflammation of eyes, along with redness of eyes, urinary tract also get inflammation. It may be possible that not all symptoms are visible, if you detect a single or few symptoms get the reactive arthritis diagnosed as soon as possible.

Reiter’s syndrome is another name for reactive arthritis, this type of arthritis will cause inflammation of all body parts, and spine area is affected the most. Many patients may be triggered with infection in the urinary tract; bladder and urethra are mostly affected parts.Reactive arthritis may also occur due to infection of the intestines. This form of arthritis is known as enteric reactive arthritis. The Reactive arthritis will show its symptoms for approximately about 4 to 12 months, the symptoms may or may not appear again. This varies person to person.
Root cause of Reactive arthritis
Reactive arthritis will show its symptoms after about 2-3 weeks of infection. The associated infection is due to sexual contact. Some research also says that infections of respiratory tract also initiate Reactive arthritis. The invasion of bacteria in digestive tract leads to infection of digestive system and is another cause for Reactive arthritis. This type of infection is due to improper eating or taking contaminated food items. Non veg food products may lead to infections of digestive system. Well it is still not known that why the infection in digestive tract or urinary tract lead to Reactive arthritis, research says that this may be due some similar genes present in few people. And any infection will lead to Reactive arthritis in these people with a similar kind of genes.
Symptoms Of Reactive arthritis
Most affected body parts due to reactive arthritis is urinary tract, the joints and eyes in few cases. Other symptoms of this type of arthritis may include ulcers in mouth and rashes in skin, eyes get red. Sometime mild symptoms may occur and the patient does not even realize them, it is good to know that the symptoms get cured over a period of time with proper medications. The symptoms reappear is rare cases.

Low back pain and hip pain are other symptoms associated with Reactive arthritis. This type of arthritis may even lead to spondylitis; this will cause hindrance in movement of body muscles. Pain in heels due to growth of heel bones cause chronic pain in feet is another symptom of Reactive arthritis.
